We have installed Air Quality Monitoring Stations in all Peninsula Hot Springs destinations to emphasise the importance of clean air in nature and the environment. We can access air quality data in real-time collected by various EPA AirWatch monitoring stations, measuring particulate matter from car and truck exhaust fumes, dust and industry pollutants.
Our Air Quality Monitoring Station is located near our Hilltop pool. During your next visit to Peninsula Hot Springs, wander up the bathing gully to see the station in its working state.

Pollutants tied to human and environmental health impacts include PM2.5, PM10, ground-level ozone, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. The greater the density of air pollutants, the higher the Air Quality Index (AQI).
Our Air Quality Monitoring Station has been installed to remind ourselves of the role we play in reducing carbon emissions. The largest impact to human health from pollution is linked to air polution, which is why it is fundamental we measure the quality of our air to ensure our guests get the most from open-air geothermal bathing.
